How much does it cost to run ducted air conditioning on the Sunshine Coast?

Running costs depend on your home size and usage patterns. Modern Daikin inverter systems are far more efficient than older models, and with zoning you’re only cooling occupied rooms. We’ll calculate expected costs based on your specific home during the quote.

Can ducted air conditioning be installed in an existing home?

Yes, retrofitting is common. We need about 600mm of ceiling space for the indoor unit. The ductwork runs through your ceiling cavity to each room. Installation typically takes 8–10 hours. There’s some ceiling work involved, and if patching or plastering is required, this will need to be arranged separately. We’ve retrofitted hundreds of Sunshine Coast homes.

What size ducted system do I need?

System sizing depends on floor area, ceiling height, insulation and window placement. As a rough guide: 120m² homes need around 7kW, 200m² homes around 12kW. But every home’s different. We do a proper heat load calculation before recommending a system. Getting the size right matters – too small won’t cope, too large wastes money.

How often should ducted air conditioning be serviced?

Annual servicing keeps your system efficient and extends its life. We clean filters, check refrigerant levels, test electrical components and clear the condensate drain. Neglected systems use more power and break down sooner. Daikin recommends yearly maintenance to maintain warranty coverage. Our service plans make it simple.

Ducted systems cool your entire home from one central unit. Air flows through ceiling ducts to every room. You get consistent temperatures and no wall units.
